How they can support their special child is the main question. Through parental training programs we focus on the child’s ability despite their disability.
We focus on the point that inspite of having disabilities every child has strengths which can be used to overcome hardships.
The parents are provided with trainings that helps them to deal with their special child, we also sensitize the extended family by providing them with counseling from time to time.
Vallabhdas Dagara Indian Society for the Mentally Challenged was established by Dr. A.V. Mehta, in 1973 with the purpose of training special children for the mainstream world, where they could become financially independent and live a dignified life.
